every morn and eve

welcome

Posted in welcome by leila on March 7, 2008

O thou lamp who art illuminated with the light of the Love of God!

Leave thou the world … and turn unto the Kingdom of thy independent Lord. Beseech Him every morn and eve and supplicate to the Gate of His Oneness to make thee firm and steadfast in the Testament and to guard thee from all calamities, with the eye of His protection, and protect thee from the tests which are (so violent) as the whirlwinds which uproot trees.

‘Abdu’l-Bahá

amy and leila will be posting pictures of the mornings and evenings of their prayer and meditation times, starting the night of Saturday, 22 March 2008, eastern standard time.

Bahá’ís are counselled to spend time, “every morn and eventide”, praying to God and cultivating a sense of spirituality—hence the timing of the photographs.

you can read an actual and virtual description of every morn and eve here.

we are very excited about this project, especially after the special wonderment of our nineteen days experience.

The intention is all that hath been sent down from the Heaven of Divine Utterance. The prime requisite is the eagerness and love of sanctified souls to read the Word of God. To read one verse, or even one word, in a spirit of joy and radiance, is preferable to the perusal of many Books.

Fantastic! I especially love the quotes from Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Baha which are rarely used and bring forth new and luminous horizons. Thank you for your time and effort in bringing this to us! Loving greetings, Linda
